| Answer / Solution |
There may be an occasion when your computer has crashed, or you simply purchase a new, upgraded computer. In this event, it will be necessary to create a data file on the new computer so that the backup will have someplace to restore into. 1. Create a new data file to restore into. From the Tenant Pro menu, go to File>Data Files. Click the New button at the bottom of the window. Verify that you are in the directory where you want your data file to be stored. This will typically be the Database folder inside C:\Program Files\Tenant Pro 7. In the File name field, enter the new data file name. It must be the exact same name as the data file you are restoring from, including capitalization, punctuation and spacing. 2. You can now follow the instructions for How do I restore to a backup data file?. It will be necessary for you to use the Browse button to identify the correct data file locations.
